Licensing
Rakitsu is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1. Most people never need anything beyond the free license. If you run Rakitsu for others as a product, read the right-hand column.
Free, no key needed
- Personal projects and hobby use
- Internal use inside your company, including production
- Teaching, coursework, and workshops
- Research, papers, and benchmarks
- Building and running your own agents, at any scale
Needs a commercial license
- Offering Rakitsu to third parties as a hosted service
- Embedding it in a product you sell that competes with Rakitsu's commercial offering: agent building, visual agent design, multi-agent orchestration, agent debugging, or run inspection
- Anything else the Additional Use Grant in the license text does not cover
Your work stays yours
The YAML configs you write, the outputs your agents produce, session logs, event streams, and anything you export are not covered by the license. Use, change, and share them on any terms you like. Each Rakitsu release converts to Apache 2.0 four years after it ships.
